With 98 Ancestry.com staff on the move to a new HQ in Dublin 2, this project focused on the fit-out of this existing building, ready to welcome them in just 3 months.
The scope included:
- Office fit-out
- Installation of comms room
- Staff canteen
- Games room; and alterations to building services installations including mechanical, electrical and security systems
Initially Lafferty Architects undertook the due diligence on this project, which included simultaneous programming and completion of landlord works and plant resuscitation.
In order to meet the client’s challenging timeline, it made sense to utilize the acquired knowledge of the team that had worked on the due diligence and continue their involvement with the project.
Already familiar with the requirements for the fit-out and the design of the subject property, Lafferty Architects could act as a single point of contact and responsibility to the client.
Our BIM capabilities were used throughout the process to inform the design, enable visualizations and assist scheduling, all of which facilitated prompt decision making in respect of finish selection, furniture layouts etc.
The project was delivered within programme and budget and achieved a premium design standard. We were delighted to have recognition for the high quality of the design with the project winning The Irish Times Fit-out Project of the year.
Lafferty were the backbone of this project and a huge driver of the success of our recent office setup. Lafferty stayed with us right through handover to the fully fitted out office taking care of Due Diligence, Project Management, Architectural and full Design Services. They achieved an incredible amount on time and on budget despite many hurdles along the way whilst also ensuring that stakeholders local and international were fully appraised at all stages of the project. Their attention to detail throughout, but specifically on both the finish of the office and also on the cost ensured a very successful outcome. Should I be involved in an office fit-out again Lafferty’s will be the first phone call I will make.
