Lafferty is centrally involved in all aspects of the development to date from site assembly (2.17ha) through design development, value enhancement, planning documentation and construction procurement strategy.
The proposed development has achieved planning permission. At its heart is the resolution of an ambitious urban design with a viable commercial strategy. The proposals restore architectural integrity and retain the protected structures of a National Monument within an architectural conservation area.
Lafferty has applied its structured and holistic approach to this project which is characterised by the extent of the site assembly, the statutory context related to the scale of the proposal and the historic context including protected structures and a national monument and the proposed mix of uses to exercise the site to its full potential.
Lafferty was fully involved in the selection of the project team including many specialists as required to deliver design excellence, commercial robustness and statutory requirements commensurate with the importance of this significant city centre redevelopment. Lafferty managed the project team to planning permissions and Ministerial Consents [Department of Arts Heritage and the Gaeltacht] as required.
